Structural Glazing

Structure Glazing refers to a method of retaining the glass in a window, storefront or curtainwall. Instead of the edges of the glazing being capture in a pocket of the framing and secured in place with gaskets, the structurally-glazed glass is retained on one or more sides by an adhesive, normally silicone.

Formation of Clear Glass initially, clear glass takes shape in an exceptionally high-temperature environment (1600 degrees Celsius), blending ingredients such as Silica, Soda ash, Dolomite, Limestone, and Cullet. The transformation into toughened glass involves heating the clear glass to 750 degrees Celsius and carefully cooling it under controlled conditions.
